Be it a wedding, anniversary, grand opening, Valentine surprise, Easter service, memorial service, or the
moment you decide to pop "the question", doves will add meaning and significance to any event. Doves are an ancient symbol
of love, peace and hope. Magic Wings helps you incorporate these beautiful animals into your special occasion to make it truly
memorable!
We serve Asheville, NC and surrounding areas of North Carolina.
Upon release, our doves
will flock together and circle above to find their bearings before returning to their home where they are provided with plenty
of food, fresh water, and safety.

We are a humane and responsible way to incorporate doves into your event. Choosing to use captive doves
bought from a pet shop is not only inhumane (these birds will soon die in the wild) but can result in a confused and inexperienced
flier landing in the punch bowl upon release! Probably not what you want your guests to remember...
There are
hundereds of ways to customize every dove release for the needs of the specific event. They can be released by hand
or directly from one of our beautiful dove baskets. If you desire, we can create a dove display to admire before the release
of the birds, or share some poetry and quotations that help all present at the event fully understand the significance of
the doves.
We love to be creative, and every dove release bears a special and unique meaning. Be it love,
new beginings, painful departures, a message of goodwill and peace, or just a joyous occasion, our doves are ready to fly.
One thing is sure, the doves add a beautiful and memorable touch to any kind of ceremony.
SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What happens to the birds when they are released?
The birds are trained to fly to their home from anywhere in the area. They will group together and
return home where they know food is waiting for them.
Can you release the birds at night?
Doves are not adapted to flying at night and so the must be given enough time to return home before sundown.
The time needed will depend on the location of your event and the distance from their home.
Are these doves or pigeons?
Our birds are trained homing pigeons, or Rock Doves. Smaller dove varieties do not posess the homing
instinct and will soon die in the wild. They are also unable to fly great distances. Any dove release business
will ALWAYS use white homing doves as their release birds.
Why can't we just buy some doves from a pet store and let them go?
This may seem like a good idea initially, but birds purchased from a pet store are tame and will not survive
in the wild. Not only is it inhumane to "set them free," they are usually very poor fliers and may not be able to fly
more than a few feet due to being captive. You could end up with confused and frightened birds floundering in the punch
bowl, or on the dessert table. They will try to hang around and may try to fly back into the cage. Our trained
birds, on the other hand, will rise into the sky, circle higher and higher as they join together, and fly off into the distance,
symbolizing a new start for a couple, joy, love, a beloved's departure, or peace and hope.
